9/23/25 - We started our day with a tour of the Missouri State Capitol building in Jefferson City. It was very large and was beautiful inside.

We have never seen a partial roof between the 1st floor and the rotunda roof.

There were many murals throughout, including several that "move" when you walk by, and above, a whole room done by Thomas Benton.

The capitol also had a museum that shared interesting information about the state.

The Missouri Supreme Court was across the street. After we walked in, the guard made a call to see if we could get a tour. We ended up getting the best court tour we've ever received!

In addition to seeing the court, we saw the robing room, the 2-story law library, and learned a ton about the Missouri legal process.

Our guide explained the non-partisan process for selecting Missouri Supreme Court judges.

After an AWESOME BBQ lunch, we drove by the Governor's mansion and the abandoned Missouri Penitentiary (both which offer tours but not on the day we were visiting).

On the way back to the RV, we stopped at the Missouri Veterinary Museum.

Although relatively small, the Missouri Veterinary Museum had a lot of artifacts and information

9/24/25 - It rained hard all day! Luckily we hadn't planned to do anything. We both did a lot of stuff on our computers.

9/25/25 - We drove about an hour south to Lake of the Ozarks.

This "lake" is a river-like reservoir created by a dam

Our first stop was "Party Cove", which looked nothing like this on a Thursday afternoon!

We were amazed at the homes along the shore. This was probably the biggest / prettiest but WOW, there are a lot of rich people in the world!!

Any Netflix "Ozark" fans? After the show, this hotel and bar changed their name to match. It is a good marketing ploy...we only stopped here because of the name and ended up buying food, drink, and merch!

We had a great time! Tomorrow we pack up and head further southwest and into Oklahoma.
