6/26/26 to 6/30/26 We loved our campsite at Timberlake Campground (on the east side of Jackson, MS). It was on a bay off of the larger Barnett Reservoir. We shared the space with several Canada Geese and Mallard ducks. Once the sun lowered in the sky, the temperature cooled off enough that we could enjoy sitting outside in our clamshell enclosure. We also enjoyed watching the turtles and a large school of catfish (when our neighbor threw corn out for them). This community

TX (part 2) & Louisiana
6/23/26 - I did a bit of shopping and in the evening we went out to dinner. We celebrated Pat's birthday with some Texas BBQ 6/24/26 - We dropped the RV off at a shop to get some brake work done. Isn't this shop confidence-inspiring? The guy on the phone was very nice and Pat seemed happy with the work they did. NM (part 2) and Texas (part 1)
6/18/26 - We spent the day at the RV relaxing, doing a bit of cooking, and going for a run in the sweltering heat! 6/19/26 - We explored more of Carlsbad Caverns. This is at the top of "The Natural Entrance" of Carlsbad Caverns. This steep entrance is why the bats fly in a "bat-nado" before flying out. This walkway took us 750ft down into the cave. 6/14/26 - It took us ~4 hours to finish moving items into the RV and closing up the house. We had a 5 hour drive to the halfway point (Deming, NM) on our way to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park area (Carlsbad, NM). On the way, we saw strange rock formations, huge pecan tree orchards, and long/double-decker trains. 2026 Trip
This will be our third summer traveling around the country with our pick-up truck and fifth wheel. Our goal now is to visit every state, so we are heading to the south/east states. Hot and muggy, here we come!!
