Last day in Yosemite

6/11/24 - Another "lazy day at home". Didn't do much...it was hot outside!

6/12/24 - 3rd day in Yosemite National Park. Weather up there was gorgeous. Watched (crazy) climbers on El Capitan, stood in the ice-cold Merced River, and drove south through the park. We stopped for beautiful views, lunch at the Wawona Hotel, and took an 8-mile hike in the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.

Yosemite Valley. Looked like a painting!
Pat using the binocs to find climbers on El Capitan
We saw about 5 climbers on El Cap
We saw several unique trees in the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias
They named this the "Clothespin" tree. Still alive!
In 1881, a tunnel was cut through this tree so tourists could drive through it. It eventually died and fell over in 1968.
A baby sequoia. 2000 years from now the part I touched will be unreachable!
